My name is Michelle-Marie Jenkins and I am a Play Therapist.  I have always been interested in the emotional well being of children and I furthered on my Early years training at college to do an BA (HONS) Early Childhood  Studies.  Through this I have worked with children in a wide verity of setting for over 15 years.

I worked as an Early Years Teacher in London and South Korea and this is where I saw many young children struggling to learn/cope with everyday life because of their emotional needs.  This inspired me to go back to university to complete a MA Play Therapy to help the children who needed extra emotional support.  I have worked with clients including CAMHS, LEA's, Dorset Rape Crisis Centre and private families.  I am a BAPT and PSA accredited play therapist and I work within the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole area.

I have worked with children with many different needs including; loss/bereavement, severe trauma, attachment difficulties, domestic abuse, aggressive behavior, autistic spectrum disorders,  difficulty with peer and family relationships, withdrawal , fostering and adoption, poor communication and social skills.

To work ethically and safely I am a member and work within the governed frame work of the British Association of Play Therapists and PSA.  I attend regular clinical supervision and attend regular professional development training.  I also have up to date; professional indemnity and public liability insurance, CRB check and first aid training.
